Research for new surfaces

Often my research starts with a sensation while strolling along or investigating materials and techniques. One October morning I stepped out of the car in the rolling hills of Orchard Park and got amazed by the first fresh snow, untouched and bearly covering the grass.

I got inspired and kept looking at foorsteps in the snow, bushes covered with snow hit by the morning light, ice covered by snow and I started longing for being able to catch this atmosphere in glazes. Snow and ice became my source of inspiration for a while.
