Studio Christine Jetten was appointed to match the glaze colours with the design intent for the vertical terracotta framing elements of the building.

The external treatment of the building is sympathetic to its context and refelects the colour palette of the architecture in the area.
The site is bounded by the Conservation Areas Smithfield Market and the Charterhouse Square. The colour tones of the ceramic glazes reflect the colour tones of the area opposite the Station's facades.
